She explained she would lay bare how an "global web of leftists work to weaken popular rule and the will of the people."

"Our focus will be on the political movement of Donald Trump and see how this can be achieved in Britain," she said. "We'll be talking to the prominent voices of the Trumpist political sphere."

Prior to the program's debut, there was a strong advocate. "This represents the dawn of a type of transformation," said the controversial US journalist. His Just the News will host the Truss's new audio shows.

Forging Alliances in the Maga Media Ecosystem

UK-based allies, such as a pro-Reform adviser, played a role in her set up the her new show. The setup is adequate, though simple. The show has attracted 10,000 subscribers in her first week and her premiere achieved tens of thousands of views during that week.

It is a modest start, but in partnering with John Solomon, Truss is being thrust into a well-developed political media sphere producing and amplifying Make America Great Again themes. Its obsessions include accusations of information control by the established press and a desire to dismantle a so-called administrative state – a force that Truss blames for the swift end of her calamitous premiership.

"Just the News is not famous outside of the Maga-verse, but it does have influence there, mostly due to its founder, who offers opinions on conservative outlets like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even interviewed the former president," noted Professor Alex Hinton, who has closely studied the Trumpist political wave.

A Divisive Associate

Her effort to import American conservative media to the United Kingdom has aligned her more closely to controversial figures such as the journalist.

He established his media outlet in the wake of scrutiny following accusations of circulating inaccurate reports about Biden's anti-corruption work in the Eastern European nation, as well as disputed reports about the former US ambassador to Ukraine.

Solomon's reporting were echoed within the conservative press, with he serving as a frequent visitor on the prominent Fox News show. Trump himself endorsed Solomon's reporting.

The journalist published the allegations regarding Ukraine in a number of opinion pieces for the outlet the Hill, after having been re-labelled as a columnist following internal criticism over his articles. These reports were central in Trump's pressure for the Ukrainian government to investigate the Bidens in that year. This pressure led to impeachment charges against the president. Joining the Network

Solomon's own media appearances are a sign of the political media environment Liz Truss is becoming part of. Solomon mentioned his endorsement of the program on a program he presents on the right-wing channel, a conservative television outlet that is where you find the pro-Trump commentator former adviser Steve Bannon and on which Tucker Carlson also features. She has already hosted Steve Bannon on one of her first podcasts.

Through her association with the journalist and his outlet, she has become a minor player in a much wider network of right-wing publications that routinely share and promote one another's material.

The journalist's podcast and Real America's Voice show have often featured figures such as influencer Mike Benz, a political voice whose disparagement of USAID was used by the tech billionaire as justification for dismantling the foreign aid agency.

A Global Media Play

While Truss's stilted style and political travails have drawn derision within the UK, certain American analysts are taking seriously her bid to reinvent herself as a British branch of the Maga media.

"It is necessary to treat folks like that seriously, although you may not want to accept their words at face value," stated a Democratic strategist, who was employed in the Biden administration.

"Observers witnessed how in 2024 President Trump used that alternative press to disseminate his views. Without a doubt that ecosystem transmits and affects debate overseas. It appears quite apparent to me that the conditions in the United Kingdom are similar to what allowed this alternative media ecosystem to prosper here."

"Digital media knows no borders," Finlayson remarked. "There exists a sort of atmosphere within which content circulates – at times taking an extreme form and sometimes less so – but which is networked."

The academic said the rise of the online right in the UK in recent times meant the "possibility to have a growing impact is considerable."
